Arts Gathering in London
Earlier this month, Doug from YWAM Leeds and myself decided to brave the epic snow scenes that covered the country and make our way down to London. We were heading down for the first national YWAM England Arts Gathering.
Having felt something bubbling under the surface with the arts here in YWAM England, Christian Vargas and Johanna, his lovely wife, opened up their home as a place of fusion and to dream. Those of us involved in the arts across YWAM England who were free had a couple of days of catching each other’s visions for the arts in the nation, hearing what each other is up to and have a laugh while we were at it. The three days set in the heart of one of London’s most creative areas were awesome. Good food, amazing company, and some really inspiring conversations. The three days created the space for us to catch vision of what it could look like to work together as people involved in the arts across the nation. We have a great deal of potential in working together and our unity in diversity could provide the context for enriching each others personal work. It’s exciting to see what God is brewing across the nation in YWAM England with the arts.
We are planning on having regular gatherings to gather likeminded artists, musicians, dancers, writers, film-makers and photographers (the more the merrier!) across our YWAM England family, to envision each other, seek collaboration and God’s heart for our future as pioneers in the mission field. Next stop Leeds….30th April – 1st May.
