Schools Work

Since our beginnings, YWAM York has been involved in Schools work in the city.  This has included involvement with  Evaluate a sex and relationship education program, speaking at Christian Unions, doing primary and secondary school assemblies as well as helping with lunch time and after school clubs.

Since 2009 YWAM has run a Christian based leadership course for the year 9 and 10 pupils at Manor CE School. We meet once a week for an interactive session covering topics such as the character of a leader, use and abuse of authority, mentoring, team work and making vision a reality. It has been brilliant to see the young people engaging with and embracing such foundational values. They will be the leaders of tomorrow and it is such a privilege to be able to invest in to their lives at such an early stage!

There are lots of other opportunities for work in Schools in the York area through YOYO or York Schools and Youth Trust. It is a local organization actively engaged in presenting the gospel to students through weekly, monthly and one off assemblies, lunch clubs, Christian Unions, and Religious Education lessons.
